Career Connect 2025 Event

On Wednesday 18th June, Business Launchpad hosted Career Connect Fest 2025 at Tooting Works – a day dedicated to helping young people aged 16–30 build the skills, networks, and confidence they need to move forward in their careers.

With over 35 attendees, the event brought together inspiring professionals, local organisations, and hands-on support, creating an environment where young people felt seen, supported, and ready to take their next step.

A Panel That Set the Tone

We kicked things off with an energising panel discussion, featuring six professionals from across business, tech, education, and community development. They spoke honestly about their own journeys, the challenges they’ve overcome, and what they’ve learned along the way – sharing advice that left the room buzzing with inspiration.

Hands-On Career Support

Career Connect isn’t just about motivation – it’s about real tools for real progress. That’s why the rest of the day focused on giving attendees tangible support, including:

  • A CV workshop delivered by Spiral Skills, full of practical advice

  • Mock interviews with supportive professionals to build confidence

  • A CV surgery offering 1:1 coaching from the BLP team and external professionals

  • Our Dream Career Wall, where attendees wrote down their career goals and aspirations

  • The Business Showcase, connecting attendees with local businesses, charities and professionals

Whether someone arrived with a plan or just a question, there was space to learn, ask, reflect and take action.

Creating Community and Opportunity

One of the biggest successes of the day? The energy in the room. Young people weren’t just receiving support – they were building connections with each other. We saw conversations spark between peers, between professionals and attendees, and between organisations and future collaborators.

It’s this kind of community-building that makes Career Connect more than just a one-day event; it’s a stepping stone to long-term personal and professional growth.
